The Landing Page Checklist: 12 Fixes That Improve Conversions

Sending ad traffic to your homepage is one of the most expensive habits in marketing. Use this 12-point checklist to build landing pages that turn clicks into enquiries.

You pay for every click from an ad. If that click lands on a slow, confusing page, you've paid for nothing. A focused landing page — one page, one offer, one action — is often the fastest way to get more from the same ad budget.

Here is the checklist we use.

Message

1. The headline matches the ad. If the ad says "School ERP with free demo", the page should say the same. When people land and don't see what they clicked for, they leave.

2. It's clear who it's for and what they get. In one or two lines: the problem you solve, for whom, and the result.

3. One goal, one call to action. Enquire, book a demo, call — pick one. Remove the main menu if it distracts.

Trust

4. Real proof. Client logos, genuine reviews, certifications, numbers you can back up. Never invent them — people can tell, and it damages trust.

5. Show the product or the people. Screenshots, photos of the team or your work. Stock photos of smiling models add little.

6. Answer the obvious questions. Price range, timeline, location, what happens after they enquire. A short FAQ reduces hesitation.

Form

7. Ask only what you need. Name, phone and one qualifying question is often enough. Every extra field loses some people.

8. Offer WhatsApp and phone too. Many people in India prefer to call or chat. Make those options visible.

9. Say what happens next. "We'll call you within 2 hours on working days" is more reassuring than a plain "Submit" button.

Speed and mobile

10. It loads fast on mobile data. Compress images, avoid heavy sliders and unnecessary scripts. Most ad clicks come from phones.

11. It works with one thumb. Big buttons, readable text, no sideways scrolling, forms that don't fight the keyboard.

Measurement

12. Tracking is tested. Form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks should all be recorded as conversions in your analytics and ad platforms. See our conversion tracking checklist.

Then: test one thing at a time

Once the basics are right, test changes one at a time — a new headline, a shorter form, a different offer — and keep what improves the conversion rate. Small improvements compound: a page that converts 4% instead of 2% halves your cost per lead with the same ad spend.
